Let's try making this thread ahead of time for a change. Pool people, post predictions when appropriate.

(Oh, and the spreadsheet is here.)

Wow...
This is gonna be a tight competition.

1. Carrie
2. Bo
3. Vonzell

I would say the top 2 are just about equals. They will be the top 2. It will be very tight, IMHO.

...Aaaaand there goes my chance at winning the pool. After Bo's second song, I turned to my mother and said, "Bo just won the whole thing." That was awesome. I'm still hoping for Carrie, as Bo, like Clay, doesn't need it to get signed. I'm doubting Carrie does at this point, either. But it looks like they're pimping Bo a lot more now. And I will be forever mad at Randy for his choice for Carrie - why Shania? She's got no range! Bah! Anyway, just to dig myself deeper into the depths of "no shot in hell" for this thing, I'm sticking with my original plan:

1. Carrie
2. Bo
3. Vonzell

1. Bo
2. Carrie
3. Vonzell

I finally found someone to root for: Bo!

Though overall Carrie did better than Vonzell, I think Carrie was on the top part of that 1% of votes separating the contestants. I'm not confident in my selection. And I loved my future husband's middle song, the last note he sang was not pleasant. And I truly believe that Randy and Paula smoke crack, their song choices were horrendous.

1. Bo
2. Carrie
3. Vonzell

Well, I *was* going to play the odds, but hell. After Bo's acapella piece, I'm just gonna go ahead and rank 'em like I see 'em:

1. Bo
2. Carrie
3. Vonzell

See, I thought Bo's a cappella song sucked. Stupid gimmick, took the easy way out (not having to be in sync with the music), contrary to the premise of the show. It left me actively rooting for him to get dumped from the show... although he did partly redeem himself with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." I still Carrie was the best of the night.

The question is whether everybody disagrees with me. But whatthehell, let's gamble.

1. Vonzell
2. Carrie (simple logic here: if Carrie wins, Sockgirlie has this sewn up)
3. Bo

Shmuel, dude. Have you ever tried to sing acapella into a mike in front of an audience? NOT the easy way out, trust me! Syncing to the music is much easier than staying in tune without the music to cue you in, and then there's the whole breath control thing, which is much easier to do (or get away with flubbing) when there's instrumental backing you, filling in those spaces. And there's the issue of keeping the beat... the confidence issues alone.... I mean, that was a BRAVE thing to do! Man, they're not just using that as a premise, it's really true that it's harder to sing acapella well. It might have been a gimmick, but it wasn't stupid, and it gave me great respect for him as an artist.

Sorry to disagree so vehemently, but my years in concert choir, madrigals and swing choir just rose up in me when I read your post :-)
