2:47 AM:
Okay, Max was onscreen for about a third of a second. I suppose he might get more airtime in the second episode, but my hopes aren't all that high anymore. Oh, well...

2:13 PM:
My sister has just directed my attention to another survey, so here goes: - If you could build your house anywhere, where would it be?
Definitely New York City. My only question is whether I'd prefer Queens or Manhattan. (In the latter case, the question would be translated as "where would I score my rent-controlled apartment?")
- What's your favourite article of clothing?
Hmm. Several contenders here, but I'm going to go with my blue Land's End coat, insulated with down, even in the hood.
- What's your favourite physical feature of the opposite sex?
Definitely the eyes.
- What's the last CD that you bought?
Let's see... which was the last one I ordered? It's hard to keep track. The last two to arrive in the mail (yesterday, used, via Half.Com) were Tongues and Tails, by Sophie B. Hawkins (her first album; I already owned the next two), and You Will Go to the Moon, by Moxy Früvous (which is all Kymm's fault).
- Where's your favourite place to be?
In bed, sleeping soundly.
- Where's your least favourite place to be?
In a car.
- What's your favourite place to be massaged?
I'd tell you, but I'm afraid the cops will close it down if word gets out. (Just kidding. Actually, I've never gotten massaged, so I have no idea.)
- HEY, what happened to #8?
As if you don't know. You're the one who did away with it; you're just asking the question to make it seem as if you're innocent. Nice try.
- What time do you wake in the morning?
Morning? What is this "morning" you speak of?
- What's your favourite TV show?
Of all time? I'd go with The Muppet Show.
- What's your favourite kitchen appliance?
The refrigerator.
- What's your favourite childhood memory?
"Favorite" and "childhood" don't belong in the same sentence, if you ask me.
- What makes you laugh?
The blimp in The Mummy Returns.
- What makes you really angry?
People trying to run my life for my own good.
- If you could play any instrument, what would it be?
Drums. I actually bought a cheap set back in the summer of 1994, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately, they don't come with volume controls, so practicing at midnight was out of the question, and I'm really not a morning person, so I never got all that far with them.
- Favourite Restaurant/Cafe/Eatery?
Let's make it "delivery," and the award goes to The Pizza Professor. Formerly "The Pizza Warehouse," they changed their name to avoid legal conflicts with any pizza joints currently in existence when they start licensing franchises elsewhere. That there is, perhaps, a good reason that nobody in their right mind had ever called their shop "The Pizza Professor" before seems not to bother them...
- Scariest moment of your life?
Realizing that I was about to fill out another one of these surveys.
- If a movie was made about you, what current/former Hollywood star would portray you?
Chris Kattan. (Thanks to Jen for suggesting this answer.)
- Do you believe in afterlife?
Yes.
- Favourite childrens' book?
Just one?! Let's go with Little Women.
- What is your favourite season?
Summer. Although spring comes in pretty close behind. Give me hot over cold any day.
- What is your least favourite household chore?
Decluttering any room.
- If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Invulnerability.
- If you had a tattoo, what would it be?
Invisible.
- Who was your first love, and at what age?
Is it really better to have loved and lost? I wouldn't know.
- The song you wished you'd written?
None that I can think of.
- What's in the trunk of your car?
I don't have one.
- What is your favourite day?
"Tomorrow."
- Describe yourself using only one word:
Idiosyncratic.

8:31 PM:
Let's address the themes addressed in Jette and Kismet's June Journal Smackdown really briefly:
1) I don't really know how other people perceive me. (There, that was simple!)
2) I have plenty of bad habits. These days, the biggest one is probably that of vegging out in front of the TV set. I can do it for hours. For days. For weeks, even. Which largely explains where May went.
3) I don't care for body hair, even though I come naturally loaded with the stuff. So I'm experimenting a bit. I'd gotten a disposable razor in a free sample pack way back in September... as of earlier today, it's one leg down, and one to go. If nothing else, I figure I've gotta even them out now.
(Y'know, one nice thing about being a writer is that all of this counts as research. At the very least, I'm getting an essay out of this.)
8:24 PM:
Okay, let's see...
First and foremost, this being time-sensitive: check out American Idol on Fox starting tomorrow night (or "tonight" by the time this is going up), and keep an eye out for "Max." He's a friend of mine. He's not gonna be on the show for long, but I'm still looking forward to seeing him on television...
