"Out of the bedpan, as the old Fatlip would say," said Spam, and fishing their overnight bags out of the craft, set out with Frito along the rising gorge that led to the next chapter.

Another Short One

I wrote my column for the college paper today, which was rather a surprise.

See, I usually have to have it done by Monday, and I didn't manage to do it this week, so I figured I'd just be writing this week off as a loss. But then, late this afternoon, I called the paper's office to make sure this was okay, and I was told that they really wanted me to write something, as the space was there and they didn't have anything else to fill it with.

So I hacked out what may well be the lamest column I've ever written, concerned solely with the fact that I was writing it at the last minute, and didn't have anything to write. Which, admittedly, you can get away with once if you do it well, but I'd already done that shtick better a year ago.

Ah, well. You can't win 'em all.

(The annoying thing there is that I do have stuff to write about in the college paper, but developing the columns properly takes time, which I haven't been spending on them.)

I found out yesterday that the actors who performed The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) on campus last semester are performing another play this week. I forget the title and author of it, and I've never heard of it before, but it doesn't really matter. I intend to be at the first performance tomorrow night.

Over the past few days, I've been finding myself drawn to the Aries Moon index page. I've been looking at it in Netscape for a change, and coming to the conclusion that I simply must redesign my own site once Winter Break arrives.

And, lemme tell ya, it's going to take some restraint to keep from stealing her design outright, 'cause, well, it's perfect. It presents all the necessary links cleanly and clearly, fitting it all onto one screen without unnecessary frills, while still looking really nice.
