We've Got Phone Service!

To make a long story short, 'cause I'm trying to catch up here, I got my phone service back today. I now owe my brother in Israel about $300, and the phone company added a $36 service charge for reconnecting the thing (to be paid over the next four months), but the important thing is that I'm back on the 'Net. So that much is well with the world. Sort of.

Otherwise, I went to the library and took out a stack of books and a couple of CDs. The new Broadway cast recording of Grease (the Rosie O'Donnell version) isn't bad; I rather like the chorale version of "We Go Together" that replaced the old "Alma Mater." And it was good to finally hear Rizzo's reply to "Greased Lightning"; I knew it existed, thanks to reports on Deborah Gibson's performance of that role in the touring production of the musical a few years back, but that had been about it. No "must-have" standout tracks on this version, though.

Otherwise, if I haven't said this before, let me just say that the Broadway cast recording of The Lion King rules, and is still very high on my list of CDs to buy once I win the lottery.

I'll cover the books in tomorrow's entry, I think.
