Inappropriate Reading?

I spent much of today reading.

Under the circumstances, I suppose something religious might have been appropriate. This was Passover, after all. This was the anniversary of my forefathers' exodus from the land of Egypt, as they went on their way to receive the Torah from God Himself. I was home with my family to celebrate the occasion. And what was I reading?

Talk Dirty To Me: An Intimate Philosophy of Sex, by Sallie Tisdale.

I can justify this by pointing out that I expect it to be helpful in my upcoming class project on feminist viewpoints on pornography, but I'm not sure that that really helps matters much.

Interesting book, though. My style of writing, in fact. Tisdale takes you through her own perspective, looking at various issues along the way, flipping back and looking at her own views from more than one angle. You're left without a firm conclusion of any sort, but with a broader perspective on the issues involved. Definitely worth a look, if you're interested in this sort of thing.

Goodness knows what the librarians at my local branch think of me by this point, though. :-)

Anyway. As I type this, it's actually just before sundown on the 6th, and I have to upload this and quickly get ready for the last two days of Passover, during which I'll be off the 'Net again until Thursday night. Throw in the usual problem with Saturdays, and the fact that I have a term paper due on the 13th that I haven't started writing yet, and, well, the backlog is going to continue to be a problem for a bit. Still, this will be the seventh entry uploaded over the past couple of days, so at least I'm catching up...

Sorry; I'll try not to let things get this far out of hand again in the future.
