Lotsa Links

I'm still playing catchup in Real Life, so entries in this journal are likely to remain sketchy for the next few days. I'm getting there, though...

In the meantime, a few quick notes.

I have, inexplicably, found myself the owner-to-be of a webcam. All I can say is that it made sense at four in the morning a few days ago, when I placed the bid on eBay, mere minutes before the auction closed. It stopped making sense immediately thereafter, but it was too late by then. Remind me to stay away from eBay when I'm zonked, in the future... but, hey, I may end up inflicting more pictures of my room on you once I get the thing, if only to justify the purchase.

Memo to self: your acting class is held in a stiflingly hot room. Dress appropriately in the future.

I got e-mail from a sorority member today, granting that I made some valid points in my latest column, but saying that I'd be better off if I weren't so cocky and overconfident about it. I'm still chewing that over.

Speaking of my columns... for a short period of time, you can find the latest three on the Web, in Rich Text Format. (I didn't originally put them there for the public; I put 'em there so the Op/Ed editor could download them for publication. I just haven't gotten around to taking them down yet.) Here they are:

In the meantime, more people have been answering my survey, and I'm just overflowing with joy. The new additions are Carol of Fleeting Imprints; Iko of The Mind's I; and Columbine, of Scherzi & Sospiri. As the last of those doesn't include the questions, you might want to try this frames presentation for it.

(Okay, so I whipped up the frameset largely because I need to learn how to use frames for that American Studies site, and this made a good excuse to try my hand at it for the first time.)

Iko and Columbine's answers on the Hitler question were particularly interesting, and I should probably have something insightful to say in response, but given my current state of mind, I'm not really up to it. Thought-provoking reading, whether you agree with them or not.

As an aside, it's been oddly comforting to note that a whole lot of the diarists I read are really busy and/or stressed right now. Nice to know I'm not alone. <wry smile>

Finally, in other journal news, Karen has started updating regularly again, and it looks like Wendy's getting the hang of her new format. And Elaine's back, too! So you'll have what to read while you wait for me to get back on track.
